Elder Owens' Guatemalan Mission

November 8, 2023 You'll never guess what happened this week. I got sick again. I swear, in these past 6 months I've been sick at least 2 1/2 months total  . One could say I'm sick of it. Anyways. I wish I could say there's a lot of progress in the area at least, but that wouldn't be true. I can't lie, it's not been easy. But I can say I chose this path, and I'm going to see it through. And it's not all bad, there's been plenty of good things too. It's just... definitely not easy. But hey, I'm in the last stretch. 18 months down, 6 left to go. So there's that. I still have mixed feelings about it... Spiritual thought Even though it's hard sometimes, it's necessary to go through hard things. If we never experienced the bad, we would never know how good the good really is. How much nicer is that paycheck after working hard and long hours for it. How much nicer is that golden trophy after training all summer. How much nicer is any...

October 25, 2023 No email, but here are pictures from the week and Kaden's FaceBook Post on October 24th:  Today we went to volunteer to prepare food boxes to feed children in need, and it was great I love helping others, as Jesus Christ does for each of us. Always feel good helping and seeing the smiles it brings to serve others. I’m so thankful for this opportunity, and I think our faces show it . I invite you to find the joy that comes from being lost in the service of others , and I do so in the blessed name of our Lord, Savior, and Redeemer: Jesus Christ. Amen.
