Week 2 at Home MTC

Image
Hello everyone. I've just completed my second and final week of online MTC, and I will be transitioning to in-person MTC beginning Wednesday morning at 6:30 in the morning Mexico City Time. This week was a little tougher than last week, I found myself pretty tired pretty often, but that's probably just because online learning is not the most ideal format for learning. Regardless, I've made so much more progress learning the Spanish language. We've even started practicing teaching lessons in Spanish! My district's morning teacher had us prepare and teach a 10 minute lesson to her native parents, and it went really well. But I'm pretty much all packed and ready to leave for the Mexico City Training Center early Tuesday morning, and I'm really excited to meet my district there. Hello everyone, this is my first missionary email home so forgive me if it's worded a little funny. As my spanish is getting better, my english gets a little worse, so it'll be interesting to see what my english will look like at the end of the 6 week training period, as well as later in my mission.  So I've been doing online training for the past week and I'll be doing online training next week as well. May 30th or 31st I will fly down to the Mexico City MTC to continue my training for another 4 weeks, and after that I will fly down to serve in the Guatemala City area until May 2024. I've already learned so much spanish and I can confidently say that there is no way that I could have learned so much so quickly without the spirit and the power of God. The Gift of Tongues (el don de Lenguas) has clearly been made manifest unto me and I'm so grateful to my Heavenly Father, (Padre Celestial) my teachers at the MTC, (Hermana Ganzolez y Hermano Mora) my fellow missio

Introducing Elder Owens

May 15, 2022: Introducing Elder Owens!  Kaden was just set apart as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  He gave a beautiful farewell talk in Sacrament today.  He starts online training bright and early tomorrow morning at 6 am.   He'll be leaving for the Mexico City MTC on May 31st.  And then on to Guatemala on June 28th!  We're so very proud of him and are beyond excited to hear all about his experience and love for the Guatemalan people he will serve.
