Week 15

Image
Alright, week 15. Man, this week has been something. We had our baptisms on Saturday, which was super cool. I had a really cool personal, spiritual experience while we were there. Our mission president and his wife even came too, which almost never happens. Then we had zone conference Tuesday, so we got to see President Woahn and his wife again. I also got 4 new ties which are pretty cool. Pday today (11:28 (still technically Wednesday but yall probably wont see this till Thursday)) we ate lunch with the elders in the district, afterwards we played games at the house. Then we assisted another baptism tonight, and President Woahn and his wife showed up again, so we've seen them 3 times in the past 5 days (we must be their favorite   (broma [joke])). My Spanish today was pretty bad (just have those days sometimes) and I couldn't understand or speak for crap really so our appointment was completely led by Elder Jenson (Thank you but also sorry  ). I've had a cramp in my neck f

Week 14

I think this week has been the best week I've had here so far.  This is the first week after transfers and my companion was assigned as district leader, so its been really cool to see what that looks like, and I've been trying to help where I can, (even though technically I'm not really supposed to, I'm still just a junior companion, but I cant really relax when I know he's super busy). He had a meeting to go to in person yesterday, so I was put with another elder whos only been here 6 days! So when we went out street contacting I got to lead the conversations, because he doesn't hardly know Spanish. That was super fun for me. Its starting raining more here so that's been a nice change of weather  . People don't really answer their doors when its raining so we just trudge around and try to find a members house so we can 'share a message'... and hide from the rain. I can finally say that Spanish has clicked in my head. I can actually understand so

Semana 13, Little Early

August 8, 2022 Surprise, pday is on Monday because transfers were a little funny this time around. Woooooooo.  Elder Jenson and i are staying here but now Elder Jenson is DL (district leader) so ill be getting to help out and see what that's like nice and early in the mission. Literally almost nothing has happened because Elder Jenson and I got sick and have been stuck at the house since last pday. Luckily we're feeling a lot better today so that's good. Story time: So last night I was hardly able to sleep at all. I couldn't sleep until around 4:30. But in the time I was awake lying in bed, I was dreaming, even though I was wide awake. And the whole time, I could feel the spirit present, like what I was seeing was influenced by him. But I would close my eyes and it would be like I was in a dream. I saw myself in this dream. I recognized it as myself, but in the future. I saw myself endure difficulties, but as I had faith in God, these difficulties were made easy. I saw

Week 12

August 2, 2022 Cool week 12. Lets see. So the initial excitement is starting to wear off as I'm settling in to the routine and such. This is good because I don't have learn so many new things and i can focus on the work at hand. I've loved getting updates from my friends and being able to know what's new in their lives. I always love pdays when I'm able to chat over messanger a little bit (or a lot). We've had a pretty good week. We have a baptism sceduled for Saturday so thats super cool. We've been able to find some new people to teach so that's always nice. This next week is packed full of appointments with members and teaching appointments. So this next week will be super good. Exhausting, but that means we're doing it right   . I'm starting to understand what it means to see people through Gods eyes. Personaly, i have a message that has brought so much happiness into my life, and i have such a desire to share this happiness with others, just

Semana 11?

July 27, 2022 I think its week 11 but I'm not %100 sure. Its easy to loose track of time when you're busy 24/7. Jeez lets see what's happened these past two weeks. So sometime not last week but the week before we did service for a Hermano Castillo. We helped him collect some tin sheets from outside his house on this super steep hill, and then we helped him dig out and clean part of his basement. Super fun, love service projects. Reminds me of home working with my homie. All the elders from our district came to our casa last pday and we hung out and played table games here. Pretty relaxing and fun. We had a zone council last week and that was super good. We talked about integrating family search and temple work into our teaching, so we are in the process of working more with members and teaching them how they can do missionary work both for people here and on the other side of the veil. Super perfect timing because people here recently haven't been interested or cared to
