This week's been a rather mellow one. We dropped a lot of people who won't progress, so we're working on finding new people. This means a lot of door knocking... and a lot of "another day"s and "I'm catholic"s and general un-answering of doors. By the way, it's very easy to tell the difference when your not home, and when your avoiding us. You can't hide from the spirit. So we've just been walking around, exploring new neighborhoods, knocking new doors, talking to new people. Pretty relaxing really. We're starting to find more people who actually want to hear and listen to us, which is awesome. Trying to teach an uninterested person is very difficult. There's still purpose to it, but it's SO MUCH NICER talking to someone who cares. Like I said. As a missionary, if worthy, we are often blessed with the gift of discernment. What that means, is we pick up pretty quickly on who you are and what your intentions are. We will almost always know by the end of a 10 minute visit if you are ready to receive truth, or no. We also always try to come back anyways because we love you guys no matter what, and change is always, always possible. Faith leads to miracles. I know this to be true.
We taught the whole primary this past Sunday... moral of the story.. I'm not ready to be a father of 10+ kids.. no sir, and no gracias.. 4 of us Elders couldn't do what one primary teacher can do.. I have a new deep and profound respect respect for that woman..
We went to the river for pday today, that was super fun. We tried fishing a little bit with some line tied to the ends of sticks, a hook and some sausage. Didn't work out, but it was fun anyways.
Almost everyone here in Lima has hammocks, so I decided to get one. Coolest possession I own now.
Spiritual thought:
Take a break... put all your worries to the side for a moment... talk to a friend... look at the stars... count your blessings... look back on how far you've come... pick up an old hobby... go for a walk... call a family member, tell them what they mean to you... life truly is beautiful... all you have to do is look... remember that first kiss you had... that time you laughed so hard with a friend... that kind thing that a family member did for you... getting through a hard time with a spouse... life is so grand... reconsider what your priorities are... what (who) will you have after this life? Take a moment to think...
Here's my personal thought process...
I don't want to waste away working to obtain objects that rust, corrupt, can be stolen...
My most valuable possessions... are that which are invaluable, cannot rust, do not corrupt, and cannot be stolen....
My most priced possessions are the people that God has placed in my life, and my relationships with them...
I'm most happy, making memories with the people I love...
I would give away any house, car, career, object, or any other material thing, just for a few hours time to spend with someone I love...
The love I share is what people remember...
It never rusts, it never corrupts, and it can never be stolen...
I own nothing but a few pairs of clothing, a few material objects, and a pretty neat hammock...
Some would say that that I'm the poorest man on earth...
But I know, that I am the richest man to live...
Because I know... that which I invest my time, love, blood, sweat, and tears into... will last not just this life... but forever... and ever... without end...
No thing, nor person, not in heaven nor in the earth can nor will take the love which I possess...
It simply is not possible...
And so I am truly free...

Answer
When the rich man came to Jesus saying, I've kept all the commandments since my youth, what lack I yet? Jesus replied, give that which ye have to the needy, and come follow me.
What more could I possibly add, to the words of the Master...
This I seal, in the name of the Master, even Jesus Christ, amen.
