Week 29

November 30, 2022

So... this one's going to be short. It's already really late, and I'm not feeling super great right now, to say the very least. Just physically, so it's alright. Anyways, good week, plenty of work. We found a ton of new people who are not only willing to listen to us, but are actually curious, so that's awesome. We put two more people on date (meaning they have baptismal dates) as well as extended two more baptismal invitations, so that's been great too. Spiritually, I've never been better; physically... that's another story... but I'm still breathing, so that's a plus. If you're curios about that, lemme know. I've got some fun stories... and possibly some broken bones... side of nausea helps... anyways...

Spiritual thought:

Everybody makes mistakes. You can ask any of my close friends and immediate family... I've made a good number of oopsies... I am a trouble magnet... everywhere I'm at something goes down... even here...

I can do one of two things:

Dwell on the bad

Or look for the good

I can choose to focus on the mistake I made, and I can beat myself up about it, and dwell on it, and be miserable

Or

I can see something as a lesson learned, move on, try not to make the same mistakes, and be content

Every single thing in life is a choice. We can't always choose what happens to us, but we can always choose how we react to it. I have a few things I could complain about right now, but I won't, because I have so much more to be grateful for. These negative things that happen teach me, and shape me for the better in the long run.

This too shall pass

One of the most common phrases we read in the scripture is: It came to pass

Pain is temporary, time cures heartache, cuts and bruises go away, and broken bones can be mended.

Practice patience and long-suffering.

Our Savior has gone below all things, so that He could overcome all things. Christ IS our cure-all. This I know and share, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
