Week 43: Back to the Jungle

March 7, 2023

Well we just got transfer news, I'm heading back to the jungle, but a different part. The place is called Jocotillo (Hoe-co-tea-oh). I'm headed out there with Elder Marcia, he's from Nicaragua, so he'll be my first Latino companion. He's cool, we've been in a district before. Honestly, I was really sad to hear I'm leaving this area. Even though it's a tough area to tackle, I've really put a lot of effort into this area and I've made a lot of really good friends. I've learned more here than I have anywhere else, and I'm sad to have to leave, but at the same time, I know it's time. I'm excited to go explore a new area too. I like a good change to the routine.

Something new. This past month I've tried a few new foods, such as papaya, fresh coconut... chicken ovaries... and some Guatemalan candies. Anyways.

As we were visiting people this week I picked up on 3 things, 3 different people said that stuck with me, and I thought I might share.

1. The time is gonna pass, what matters is what are you going to do in that time.

2. Take the good from every place you've been, and take it with you every place you go.

3. You can't change the whole world, so what really is your mission?

These have got me thinking, so moving forward I want to try to focus on the things I want to accomplish here, and make sure I'm always moving forward, and not standing idle.

That's about all, I've got transfers so I was up late packing (because I procrastinated) and then I had to get up at 4:30 to get ready for the taxi.

Hope everyone is doing well.
